LaMar C. Berrett was a professor emeritus of Church history and doctrine at BYU, and served as Chairman of the Department of Church History and Doctrine for nine years. The author of Discovering the World of the Bible, he has conducted many tours to the Holy Land and Church history sites. researched and mapped the Mormon trail, documenting the history of the restored LDS church from the eastern seaboard to the great Salt Lake Valley. He was honored by the Oregon California Trails and America's History Trails Associations for discovery and preservation of the trails.
